Khatri SG, et al. - This study was conducted to estimate the efficacy of aloe vera in comparison to triclosan toothpaste against total candida, C. albicans, C. tropicalis, Candida krusei, and plaque/gingivitis in intellectually disabled adolescents over 30 days. It was seen that Aloe vera-containing toothpaste was useful in reducing plaque, gingivitis, and overall candidal counts in comparison with triclosan. Improved oral health status without any negative side effects, were experienced by individuals treated with aloe vera.
