Angiographic signatures of the predominant form of familial transthyretin amyloidosis (Val30Met mutation)
American Journal of Ophthalmology Jun 08, 2018
Rousseau A, et al. - Experts ascertained the abnormalities in choroidal and retinal vasculature related to Val30Met familial transthyretin amyloidosis (V30M-FTA) using fluorescein and indocyanine green (ICG) angiography. A frequent and severe complication of V30M-FTA was retinal amyloid angiopathy (RAA) that led to anterior and posterior segment neovascularization. In all patients, detection of CAA was made with a late hypercyanescent delineation of the choroidal arterial vasculature. This choroidal arterial vasculature was more extensive with increased disease severity.
