Anesthetic efficacy of supine and upright positions for the inferior alveolar nerve block: A prospective, randomized study
Journal of Endodontics Dec 07, 2017
Crowley C, et al. - The authors performed this prospective, randomized study to compare an upright vs a supine position on the success of pulpal anesthesia when an inferior alveolar nerve block (IANB) was administered in asymptomatic teeth. In the molars and anterior teeth, the supine and upright positions were equally successful. In the premolars, the supine position was more successful. However, clinically, neither position for the IANB administration would provide complete pulpal anesthesia.
