Analysis of pathogens and their susceptibility in patients with diabetic foot syndrome treated surgically

Kumoniewski P, et al. - Since improper metabolism of sugars could give rise to a number of complications, researchers performed this study to examine the pathogens and their susceptibility in patients with diabetic foot syndrome who were treated surgically. In the diabetic foot syndrome, soft tissue infections were most frequently caused by several types of bacteria, most commonly Staphylococcus aureus. As per the outcomes, it appeared that the op­timal start of antibiotic therapy would be the use of amoxicillin with clavulanic acid.
