Anaesthetic efficacy of 4% articaine compared with 2% mepivacaine: A randomized, double-blind, crossover clinical trial

International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Dec 06, 2017

Bortoluzzi MC, et al. - This randomized, double-blind, crossover clinical trial was performed to assess the clinical efficacy of 4% articaine (Ar4) compared to 2% mepivacaine (Me2), both in combination with 1:100,000 epinephrine, in a unique soft tissue model. Compared to Ar4, the performance of Me2 was superior. Thus, findings suggested that in terms of depth, extent, and duration, Me2 provided a more effective anaesthesia.
