All-ceramic single crowns supported by zirconia implants: 5-year results of a prospective multicenter study
Clinical Oral Implants Research Apr 17, 2019
Spies BC, et al. - In this prospective two-center study, researchers examined the survival or/and success rates with a patient-reported outcome of zirconia-based posterior single crowns (SCs) supported by zirconia implants in 45 subjects. They observed 79.3±5.8% of the Kaplan-Meier (KM) success estimate as 9 reconstructions presented (at least in one category) a major deviation from the ideal (5 major chippings, 4 with increased occlusal roughness, one significant crevice and one pronounced over-contouring). They reported a frequent incidence of chipping (n=19) and occlusal roughness (n=35). High survival rates and highly satisfied patients' needs were concluded in Veneered zirconia-based SCs supported by zirconia implants.
