Airflow limitation in people living with HIV and matched uninfected controls

Ronit A, et al. - In this study, people living with HIV (PLWHIV) and uninfected controls were assessed for dynamic pulmonary function. Researchers found that HIV conferred risk for concurrently decreased FEV1 and FVC. They also noted that this excess risk was not explained by smoking or socioeconomic status and may be mediated by prior immunodeficiency.
