Aflibercept treatment in polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy: Results of a prospective study in a Caucasian population

Wolff B, et al. - Authors assessed both the anatomical and functional effectiveness of aflibercept intravitreal injections (IVT) as a monotherapy in polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) in a Caucasian population. Both, a significant visual gain and the regression of polypoidal dilations were seen to be provided by aflibercept as a monotherapy. The hemorrhagic risk and atrophy linked to photodynamic therapy (PDT) could be reduced by aflibercept use in monotherapy. On indocyanine green angiography, 62% of the cases presented with polyp disappearance.
