Adult Henoch-Schonlein purpura: Clinical and histopathological predictors of systemic disease and profound renal disease

Cao R, et al. – The intent of this investigation was to identify the specific clinical and histopathological characteristics correlated with systemic involvement in adult Henoch–Schonlein purpura. The patients older than 30 years displayed a threefold increased risk of renal involvement. The risk of profound renal disease requiring a nephrology referral appeared to rise notably with age and the presence of cutaneous bullae and/or necrosis.
