Zaghloul MS, et al. - Researchers in this randomized phase 2 trial explored if adjuvant sequential radiotherapy (RT) plus chemotherapy can improve locoregional recurrence–free survival (LRFS) compared with adjuvant chemotherapy alone for locally advanced bladder cancer (LABC) after radical cystectomy. Compared to chemotherapy alone, adjuvant chemotherapy plus RT seemed resulting in significant improvements in LRFS and marginal improvements in disease-free survival in LABC and was also reasonably well tolerated. They recommend considering the addition of adjuvant RT for LABC.
