Acute pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer risk: A nationwide matched-cohort study in Denmark

Kirkegard J, et al. - The association between acute pancreatitis and increased risk of pancreatic cancer was investigated in this study. When compared to age- and sex-matched general population, patients with acute pancreatitis reported an increased risk of pancreatic cancer. Although the risk decreased over time, it remained high after more than 5 years of follow up.
