Briggs A, et al. - In patients undergoing Emergency General Surgery (EGS), researchers ascertained the risk of AKI, along with associated outcomes. They recognized EGS as a robust risk factor for AKI in critically ill patients. The development of AKI was observed to be a strong predictor of increased 90-day mortality.
