Abouelkheir M, et al. - Herein, the authors explored the effect of acute kidney injury (AKI) relative to vancomycin and piperacillin-tazobactam (PTZ) in pediatrics. The findings underscored the necessity of caution in utilizing the combination of vancomycin and PTZ. Increased vigilance was recommended for health-care professionals if this combination was to be initiated with close monitoring for renal function. As soon as culture results were available, antibiotic therapy de-escalation ought to be taken into account.
