Yokota LG, et al. – Analysts explored the incidence of acute kidney injury (AKI) in elderly patients admitted to intensive care unit (ICU) from a developing country. In this group of patients, AKI was frequent. AKI was ascertained as a risk factor for death. This study emphasised sepsis as an important risk factor for both AKI and mortality, similar to developed countries and in younger populations.
