Acute kidney injury among older patients undergoing coronary angiography for acute myocardial infarction: The SILVER-AMI Study
American Journal of Medicine Dec 17, 2019
Dodson JA, Hajduk A, Curtis J, et al. - Data from 2,212 adults age ≥ 75 years in the Comprehensive Evaluation of Risk Factors in Older Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction (SILVER-AMI) study who underwent coronary angiography were analyzed to determine whether aging-related conditions could independently prognosticate acute kidney injury in large acute myocardial infarction cohorts. Researchers observed that among elderly people with acute myocardial infarction who undergo coronary angiography, acute kidney injury is common. Moreover, predictors widely imitated those in former studies of younger people, suggesting that geriatric conditions reconcile their impact via other risk factors.
