Spine Nov 20, 2018
Kim WJ, et al. - Authors assessed the activity of daily living (ADL) of three categorized patients group; over 60-year-old degenerative spine patients without adult spinal deformity (ASD), nonoperative ASD patients, and operative ASD patients. They also evaluated that what kinds of activities would be impaired and how the ADL changes over time after long level fusion. Findings suggested an impairment in ADL after long level fusion; however, it would improve as time goes by. Nonetheless, an impairment was still seen in the activities associated sedentary lifestyle among ADL. Therefore, before deciding operation, enough information should be given to the patients about limited activities.
