Accuracy of biomarkers obtained from cone beam computed tomography in assessing the internal trabecular structure of the mandibular condyle
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology Aug 29, 2017
Ebrahim FH, et al. – The study aimed to determine the efficacy of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) to measure condylar internal trabecular bone structure and bone texture parameters accurately. Results of this study suggested that measurements of trabecular thickness, trabecular separation, bone volume, bone surface area, and degree of anisotropy obtained from high resolution dental CBCT radiographs might make for suitable bone imaging biomarkers that could be utilized clinically and in future research.
