Absence or mislocalization of DNAH5 is a characteristic marker for motile ciliary abnormality in nasal polyps

Qiu Q, et al. - An exploration was carried out of the mechanism of motile cilia impairment in patients with chronically inflamed airways, for instance, as seen in nasal polyps (NPs). It was determined that the absence or mislocalization of dynein axonemal heavy chain 5 (DNAH5) from motile cilia presented as a common and potentially vital pathological phenomenon in chronically inflamed airway epithelium.
