A systematic review and meta-analysis of systemic exposure associated with molar incisor hypomineralization
Community Dentistry and Oral Epidemiology May 28, 2019
Fatturi AL, et al. - Researchers conducted this systematic review and meta-analysis to assess systemic exposures correlated with molar incisor hypomineralization (MIH). A total of 4207 articles have been identified. It was noted that 29 studies were suitable for inclusion and 27 were involved in the meta-analysis. According to findings, higher odds of MIH was significantly linked to maternal illness, psychological stress, caesarean delivery, delivery complications, respiratory diseases and fever during the first years of a child's life. This should be interpreted with caution, however, once the primary studies have been observed, with serious limitations based on the risk of bias, imprecision, and inconsistency.
