A single dose of dezocine suppresses emergence agitation in preschool children anesthetized with sevoflurane-remifentanil

An LJ, et al. - This study was implemented to assess the safety and efficacy of dezocine for emergence agitation (EA) in preschool children anesthetized with sevoflurane-remifentanil. Findings revealed that in preschool children that had undergone laparoscopic repair of an inguinal hernia by high ligation of the hernia sac under sevoflurane-remifentanil anesthesia, a decrease in the incidence and severity of EA was noted as a result of administration of dezocine 0.1 mg/kg.
