A retrospective study of survival of 196 replanted permanent teeth in children
Dental Traumatology Apr 19, 2019
Wang G, et al. - Factors influencing the survival of replanted teeth in children were evaluated by researchers in this study including 196 replanted teeth with a mean follow-up period of 4.0 years. They noted a significantly higher root resorption incidence (87.6%) in teeth stored non-physiologically for longer than 30 minutes when compared with teeth stored non-physiologically within 30 minutes (66.3%). They found the occurrence of pulp canal obliteration in 5 of the 56 immature teeth (8.9%) but 2 of them were later extracted due to replacement resorption. Significantly higher survival of mature teeth (79.3%) was reported than that of immature teeth (69.6%).
