A retrospective analysis of 538 sinonasal fungus ball cases treated at a single tertiary medical center in Korea (1996-2015)

International Forum of Allergy & Rhinology Aug 30, 2017

Yoon YH, et al. – Here the authors illustrated their experience with sinonasal fungus ball (FB) cases in a single tertiary medical center. Collected data showed that over the past 20 years, the number of FB patients who underwent surgery had increased steadily. In patients with unilateral nasal symptoms and unexplained headaches, FB should be considered. For diagnosis, a preoperative CT scan was a useful tool. Endoscopic surgery offered low morbidity and recurrence rate in this condition.
