A randomized clinical trial of cyanoacrylate tissue adhesives in the donor site of connective tissue grafts
Journal of Periodontology Feb 21, 2019
Stavropoulou C, et al. - A total of 36 candidates were evaluated to compare various components like early wound healing, patient-centered consequences, and postoperative complexities at palatal donor area of subepithelial connective tissue grafts (CTG) between cyanoacrylates tissue adhesives and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) sutures. They recorded 1.49, the median value of discomfort in the "suture" group whereas 1.86 in the "cyanoacrylate". They also noted the mean time required ie, 7.31 minutes for suture placement and 2.16 minutes for cyanoacrylate application. They found no statistically significant differences between the 2 methods in relation to pain level, analgesic intake, and modified early-wound healing index (MEHI).
