A qualitative study of pregnancy-related anxiety among women in Tanzania
BMJ Open Aug 10, 2017
Rosario MK, et al. – THis paper resolved to assess and comprehend the experiences and priorities of pregnant women living with fears and worries, associated with fetal/infant and maternal health, the birthing process and ability to parent the infant (ie, pregnancy–related anxiety (PRA)) in Mwanza, Tanzania. The realities and opinions of women in low–income and middle–income countries (LMIC) experiencing PRA remained unknown. An insight was gained into the perspectives and priorities of women in Mwanza, who experienced PRA. The requirement to investigate this phenomenon in other LMIC was warranted. The additional domains identified reinforced the need for a PRA tool that accurately and adequately captured the complexities of PRA for the study cohort.
