A prospective, non-randomized evaluation of a novel low energy radiofrequency treatment for nasal obstruction and snoring

European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology Mar 26, 2019

Brehmer D, et al. - In this prospective study, the authors examined 31 candidates from 1st September 2017 to 1st May 2018 to assess the consequences of the Vivaer system for the treatment of narrowed nasal valves and also to measure the modifications in the symptoms of nasal obstruction and snoring. The Vivaer system used low energy radiofrequency to rebuild the nasal sidewall in order to improve airflow. They reported an improvement in nasal breathing as measured by NOSE score. An improvement in sleep quality was also noticed as ranked by SOS questionnaire and quality of life as measured by EQ-5D and SNOT-22.
