A pilot evaluation of a computer-based psychometric test battery designed to detect impairment in patients with cirrhosis

Cook NA, et al. - The Cogstate computer battery testing with the Psychometric Hepatic Encephalopathy Score (PHES) tests were contrasted in this research. The purpose was to simplify the diagnosis. A very strong link was found between the subtests of the Cogstate battery and the digit symbol component of PHES in discriminating severity of hepatic encephalopathy (HE). The components of the current PHES battery with the international shopping list tasks of Cogstate would be discriminant and could display the potential of easy utility in clinical practice.
