A multicenter randomized controlled trial using a novel collagen membrane for guided bone regeneration at dehisced single implant sites: Outcome at prosthetic delivery and at 1-year follow-up
Clinical Oral Implants Research May 20, 2019
Urban IA, et al. - In this 12-month report of a randomized controlled trial, a novel resorbable non-cross-linked collagen membrane (CXP) and a reference membrane (non-cross-linked resorbable membrane; BG) were compared for simultaneous implant placement and guided bone regeneration (GBR) at dehisced single implant sites. CXP was used to treat 24 patients and BG was used to treat 25 patients. Outcomes revealed a similar reduction in defect height and similar improvement in secondary measures using CXP vs BG treatment in simultaneous implant placement and GBR at dehisced implant sites. This indicates non-inferiority.
