A comparison of the tongue-in-groove and columellar strut in creating and maintaining tip projection and rotation: A randomized single blind trial

European Journal of Plastic Surgery Aug 19, 2017

Yaberi R, et al. – Tongue in groove (TIG) and columellar strut are two of the many techniques to ensure an adequate nasal tip projection and rotation, this study seeks to assess long–term efficacy of these techniques. Findings suggest both techniques as effective in maintaining tip projection and/or rotation in rhinoplasty. In qualified hands, the tongue in groove technique may provide significantly better esthetic satisfaction to patients than the columellar strut technique.
