A 19-gauge histology needle vs a 19-gauge standard needle in endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration for solid lesions: A multicenter randomized comparison study (GREATER Study)

Digestive Diseases and Sciences Feb 25, 2018

Iwashita T, et al. - A comparative evaluation was conducted of the histological diagnostic yield in single-pass endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) for solid lesions using 19-gauge histology needle (PC19) and a standard 19-gauge needle (EC19). Findings revealed the feasibility of single-pass EUS-FNA with PC19. It illustrated notably higher overall diagnostic accuracy along with an increased tendency towards histological diagnostic accuracy, particularly with trans-esophageal/gastric FNA.
