A novel nomogram to identify candidates for extended pelvic lymph node dissection among patients with clinically localized prostate cancer diagnosed with magnetic resonance imaging-targeted and systematic biopsies

European Urology Feb 20, 2019

Gandaglia G, et al. - Investigators assessed 497 candidates to examine the efficiency of available tools to prognosticate lymph node invasion (LNI) and also to generate a novel design for males diagnosed through magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-targeted biopsies. They recorded that 62 individuals had LNI and about 15 nodes were removed. They included PSA, the clinical stage and the maximum diameter of the index lesion in multiparametric MRI (mpMRI), the grade group for targeted biopsy, and the presence of clinically significant prostate cancer (PCa) in concomitant systematic biopsy in the model and noticed an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of 86%. It was the foundation for a nomogram based on the coefficient.
