Taniguchi H, et al. - A total of 102 patients were analyzed by investigators to estimate the serum total testosterone levels (STLs) of candidates following brachytherapy (BT) for prostate cancer. Participants underwent permanent interstitial BT using I¹²⁵ without androgen deprivation therapy for localized prostate cancer and were then followed for 24–60 months afterwards. They recorded 4.18 ng/mL as the median pre-implantation STL. A significant decline in STL to a median nadir of 89.4% of baseline (3.72 ng/mL) at 6 months was noticed, with recovery to baseline 18 months following I¹²⁵-based BT.
