Association between urodynamic parameters and urine NGAL concentrations in children with neuropathic bladders

Journal of Pediatric Urology Jan 28, 2019

Forster CS, et al. - In this cross-sectional study, from August 2015 to March 2016, authors estimated 89 candidates to study comparatively the urinary neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) (uNGAL) concentrations between kids with raised and normal detrusor pressure, and between those with low and normal yield, on urodynamics. They noted a higher median uNGAL in candidates with normal compliance in comparison to low compliance. No difference was observed in median uNGAL concentrations between subjects with low and high pressure. They found no correlation between maximum detrusor pressure and uNGAL but noticed a moderate relationship between compliance and uNGAL.
