Reich W, et al. – Researchers collected data on 31 inpatients aged < 18 years who were treated for mid-facial fractures between September 2008 and September 2018 in order to characterize pediatric mid-facial fractures. Parameters they assessed included age, sex, cause and type of fracture, associated injuries, treatment, and complications related to injuries. Road traffic accident (41.9%) was noted as the most common reason for injury. They recorded orbital floor fracture in 58.1% of cases. Surgery was performed in 54.8% of cases. They reported a low incidence of complexities correlated to mid-facial fractures. Only three cases needed treatment including orthodontic, ophthalmological sustenance.
