Predictive factors for relapse of cryptogenic organizing pneumonia
BMC Pulmonary Medicine Jan 14, 2019
Saito Z, et al. - Researchers investigated factors could predict cryptogenic organizing pneumonia (COP) relapse by analyzing the medical records of 33 treated COP patients, with 23 (69.7%) and 10 patients (30.3%) of them assigned to the non-relapse and relapse groups, respectively. They compared demographic and clinical variables between relapse and non-relapse groups. They noted similar clinical characteristics, cumulative prednisone dose, and steroid treatment duration in both groups and carried out univariate analysis. They found that, radiographic findings, such as bilateral shadow pattern, traction bronchiectasis, and partial remission, could potentially predict relapse in COP.
