Identification of novel autoantibodies associated with psoriatic arthritis

Arthritis & Rheumatology Jan 11, 2019

Yuan Y, et al. - In this study, researchers assessed 73 psoriatic cases to recognize autoantigens and autoantibodies to build the molecular and cellular foundation of the pathogenesis in psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. They noted a correlation of serum levels of IgG autoantibodies against LL37 and ADAMTSL5 with Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI). This speculated the disease progression in longitudinally collected samples from psoriasis patients. They observed the marked elevation of several serum autoantibodies including IgG autoantibodies against antigens principally LL37 and ADAMTSL5 in the psoriasis cases, proposing that these molecules might be associated with the pathogenesis of psoriatic arthritis.
