Stam H, et al. - Given that dizziness in older people can substantially affect daily functioning, researchers developed and validated an easy-to-use risk score for dizziness-related impairment in older patients in primary care. The two cohorts used in this study were a development cohort (n=203; aged ≥ 65 years) that included patients who consulted their primary care physician (PCP) for dizziness and had substantial dizziness-related impairment and a validation cohort (n=415; aged ≥ 65 years) that included patients who consulted their PCP for dizziness of any severity. Findings showed that the model displayed good calibration and fair discrimination, and the score was easy to use.
