Association between Trichomonas vaginalis and prostate cancer mortality

International Journal of Cancer Oct 24, 2018

Tsang SH, et al. - Considering the previous observation revealing a positive association between seropositivity for the parasite Trichomonas vaginalis and risk of clinically significant prostate cancer at diagnosis, researchers investigated the influence of T. vaginalis seropositivity on prostate cancer-specific or all-cause mortality among prostate cancer patients. For this work, 749 prostate cancer cases from the Physicians’ Health Study (PHS) and 736 from the Health Professionals Follow-Up Study (HPFS) were examined. Outcomes revealed no association between T. vaginalis serostatus and mortality among prostate cancer patients.
