Hao Y, et al. - In young patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), researchers assessed the impact of using a mobile medical application (app) for self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) levels and blood glucose control in this prospective cohort study. Compared with the traditional medical model group, app-users had a higher glycosylated hemoglobin A1c compliance rate and higher frequency of both SMBG and doctor–patient communication. Data showed that a mobile medical app may be useful to young patients with newly diagnosed T2DM for the monitoring and management of their blood glucose and improving their blood glucose control to meet the standard.
