Evaluation of retromode imaging for use in hydroxychloroquine retinopathy
American Journal of Ophthalmology Aug 18, 2018
Ahn SJ, et al. - Experts sought to report on the application of retromode imaging using infrared lasers to eyes with hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) retinopathy. They also compared the retromode images with those acquired via conventional objective screening imaging modalities—optical coherence tomography (OCT) and fundus autofluorescence (FAF). As per data, for detecting HCQ retinopathy retromode imaging may be useful. Nonetheless, a supplementary role in screening HCQ retinopathy, particularly for early detection is suggested by its excellent sensitivity but limited specificity.
