Comprehensive genomic profiling of Hodgkin lymphoma reveals recurrently mutated genes and increased mutation burden

Liang WS, et al. - Given that characterization of genomic landscape of Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) is required in order to improve treatment strategies, researchers analyzed the landscape of HL by performing comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) using targeted next-generation sequencing on archival formalin-fixed paraffin embedded tumor samples from 63 patients. They found it feasible to perform comprehensive genomic profiling of archival HL tumor samples. Moreover, it allowed detection of genes that were recurrently mutated. In the majority of samples analyzed, HL had increased mutation burden. A potential disease-monitoring strategy may be to track XPO1 E571 mutant allele frequency in a subset of patients.
