Lin E, et al. - Researchers evaluated the prognostic implications of signal intensity on standard imaging techniques for the biologic behavior of skull base chordomas via retrospectively reviewing records for 22 patients with pathologically confirmed skull base chordomas. Risk factor for tumor progression/recurrence following surgical resection was an enhancement of skull base chordomas. They found an association between postcontrast T1 signal intensity and recurrence/progression.
