Prognostic role of soluble ST2 in Acute Coronary Syndrome with diabetes
European Journal of Clinical Investigation Jul 18, 2018
Jha D, et al. - Among Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) patients with diabetes, researchers evaluated whether a cardiac biomarker like soluble ST2 (sST2) can predict major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE). Participants in the study were 122 ACS patients. By using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), sST2 level in blood plasma samples was quantified. In ACS patients with diabetes, elevated levels of sST2 could be a suitable biomarker to assess the risk of future adverse cardiovascular events.
