Breen A, et al. - Researchers evaluated the impacts of intervertebral kinematics in patients with treatment-resistant nonspecific low back pain. Greater motion sharing inequality (MSI) values were seen in patients with treatment-resistant nonspecific back pain than controls, especially if these patients have received spinal surgery. Nonetheless, findings did not suggest a greater prevalence of excessive laxity, translation and MS in these patients. Therefore, investigation of MSI as a pain mechanism and for its possible value as a prognostic factor and/or target for treatment in larger patient populations was suggested.
