Martín A, et al. - Researchers ascertained the relationship between chronic periodontitis and erectile dysfunction, adjusting for biochemical markers and other comorbidities. They collected the sociodemographic data and performed a periodontal examination. A worse periodontal condition was seen in patients with erectile dysfunction. In the pathogenesis of erectile dysfunction a key role as a risk factor was played by chronic periodontitis, independent of other morbidities.
