Gan L, et al. - A cross-sectional study was conducted to investigate the predictive value of serum adiponectin levels for coronary high-risk plaques, as detected by computed tomography angiography (CTA). For this investigation, all subjects were divided into either a high-risk plaque group or a non-high-risk plaque group. To determine the predictive value of adiponectin for high-risk plaques, they used receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curves and multivariate analysis. It was seen in the findings that decreased adiponectin levels correlated with the presence of high-risk plaques in asymptomatic populations at low to intermediate Framingham risk score. Before coronary CTA, adiponectin could play a key role in plaque screening.
