Choi S, et al. - Authors gauged the role of the bow and lean test (BLT) in the diagnosis of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). Both bowing nystagmus (BN) and leaning nystagmus (LN), in lateral semicircular canal (LSCC) cupulopathy were persistent and observed in all cases, but LSCC cupulolithiasis could not be distinguished from light cupula according to nystagmus direction in the BLT. Nonetheless, better lateralization in LSCC canalolithiasis was yielded by a BLT, compared to LSCC canalolithiasis, it could be more useful in predicting the diagnosis and lateralization of the posterior semicircular canal (PSCC) BPPV.
