Pityriasis lichenoides: Long-term follow-up study

Pediatric Dermatology Apr 19, 2018

Zang JB, et al. - Researchers reviewed the clinical features and treatment responses of individuals with pityriasis lichenoides seen at a tertiary referral center. They noted pityriasis lichenoides to be a predominantly pediatric disorder. Compared to pityriasis lichenoides et varioliformis acuta, the time course of pityriasis lichenoides chronica was significantly longer. Results demonstrated that pityriasis lichenoides chronica could be present with pigmentary alterations in the absence of other signs of active inflammation. Treatment response, particularly for patients with pityriasis lichenoides chronica was seen to be often limited.
