Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology Apr 19, 2018

They conducted a retrospective, cross-sectional analysis pediatric patients patch tested by the North American Contact Dermatitis Group from 1994 to 2014. Findings demonstrated that in children, nickel sensitivity was common. Girls demonstrated significantly higher frequency than in boys. Overall, with age, the sensitivity decreased. Jewelry was the most common source of nickel. For all age groups sensitive to nickel, the most common body site distribution was scattered/generalized, suggesting widespread dermatitis.
