Ogawa T, et al. - Experts evaluated the clinical usefulness of dynamic-enhanced MRI (dMRI) to improve the diagnoses of the salivary gland tumors. The histological diagnoses included pleomorphic adenoma (PMA), the Warthin tumors (WT) and malignant tumors (MT). Findings suggested that it was possible to distinguish between Warthin tumors (WT), pleomorphic adenoma (PMA) and malignant tumors (MT) using peak time (Tpeak) and washout ratio (WR). Moreover, for these tumors, a rapid enhancement pattern could be a potential marker. The differences among the 3 types of tumors were revealed by the time-intensity curve (TIC). Significant differences were also revealed by Tpeak as well as WR. Authors noted that the Tpeak were lower in order of WT, MT, PMA, respectively.
