Ventimiglia E, et al. - Authors aimed to probe the role of systemic inflammation by means of the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in men with erectile dysfunction (ED). The median [IQR] age of included men was 51 [40–64] years. Findings suggested that for severe ED, NLR>3.0 emerged as an independent predictor, after accounting for other clinical variables. Researchers noted that the risk of having severe ED was increased with NLR>3, boosting the already existing evidence linking systemic inflammation to ED. Also, the clinical usefulness in better risk-stratifying patients with ED was demonstrated by this easily obtainable index.
